Receiving.. a pathway to self acceptance
'Tis the season to be jolly... it surely seems to
be the most wonderful time of the year. People seem to be happier and
in a more forgiving mode too. The heart-felt joy fills the air... All
this happiness, excitement, glee.. Can this state continue without
falling into post holiday blues?
We feel happy in giving because it comes from a state
of feeling abundant. And during the holiday season, we are much more
open to receiving gifts more graciously (because it's expected, normal,
ok etc). Even if we end up exchanging them for something we want later
on, we recognize the efforts and that it's the thought that counts.
So we are full of joy in the balance between giving and receiving cycling
through us continuously keeping us in the state of abundance, a natural
state of a divine being.
But what about other times? Are we a graceful receiver
or an automatic reciprocator with a sense of obligation? Do we allow
the energy to flow in or cut if off wiht a sense of undeserving and
unworthy? Do we relate to receiving as lacking/weakness in ourselves?
Being a bad receiver is not at all different from being a hoarder;
they are opposite ends of a same tube. One blocks energy from coming
in and the other from going out.
Just as it is joyful in "giving/sharing",
so is in "receiving". When this flow of energy becomes circular,
joy, happiness, abundance, pleasure etc belongs to everyone.. giving
create room to receive so the more we receive, there's even more to
give/share.. we find more room to receive.. to share.. on and on the
cycle continues..
Conscious practicing of
"receiving" with gratitude is truly an art form which helps
us open our hearts, and shed our old modes/beliefs about ourselves.
Then we become more accepting of the boundless abundance God has for
us.
Life is a gift and we are the most magnificent and
greatest gift to ourselves from God. Are we ready to be an open and
receptive channel for our gifts of love, happiness, joy, freedom, creativity,
prosperity, peace and pure bliss?.. and to share them lavishly with
the world?
Namaste. ~"The God in me
greets the God in you. The Spirit in me meets the same Spirit in
you"
